World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a nonprofit organization founded by Chef José Andrés, dedicated to providing meals in the wake of natural disasters and humanitarian crises. WCK combines the power of food with community response, mobilizing local resources to serve fresh, nourishing meals to those in need while supporting the local economy. Their mission is simple yet impactful: food relief where it's needed most.

“In 2010, Chef José Andrés, ready to use his culinary knowledge and talent to help, headed to Haiti following a devastating earthquake. Cooking alongside displaced families in a camp, he was guided on the proper way to cook black beans the way Haitians like to eat them: mashed and sieved into a creamy sauce. It wasn’t just about feeding people in need—it was about listening, learning, and cooking side by side with the people impacted by the crisis. This is the real meaning of comfort food, and it’s the core value that José, along with his wife Patricia, used at the center of founding World Central Kitchen. “ (WCK Website)

“World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is in Southern California to support first responders and families impacted by wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Our teams have mobilized across the region to provide immediate relief. We are working with restaurant and food truck partners to provide comforting meals. “ (WCK Website)

The Palisades, Hurst, and Eaton wildfires have forced approximately 30,000 residents to evacuate from areas like Pacific Palisades. The fires have consumed nearly 4,000 acres and threaten over 13,000 structures. Power outages have affected more than 200,000 people.
Firefighters are battling the blazes amid strong Santa Ana winds, with gusts up to 100 mph, hindering efforts. Severe wind and fire warnings remain in effect for the region as of last Wednesday morning.
WCK teams have mobilized across Southern California to support anyone in need.
